Day 2: Paducah, KY to Arthur, IL
Trip 215 miles
Total 615 miles
Here are a few more pictures of Duck Creek RV Park in Paducah, KY.
Adam had a great time playing soccer with his Nana.
Nana kicking the ball.
Our Route:
We took I-24 north out of Paducah, KY and picked up I-57 north near Marion, IL, and we drove and drove and drove....
until we reached Arcola, IL.
There we took a little backroad #133 to Arthur, IL, where they had big plans for an annual Cheese Festival this weekend.
Most of which was cancelled because of the forecast. :(
Then we loaded up and headed down the road.
Across another bridge.
and into Illinois!
The roads really looked similar to Kentucky.
I loved these rocks here on the side of the road.
long stretch on highway
Unfortunately, we arrived in Arthur, IL a little late in the afternoon and the little RV campground was full. They found us a place to park for the night, but we had no hook-up and very little electrical capability.
Paw is teaching me how to unhook the towed car.
Then guess who came driving by.
Clip-clop!
All evening long!
We were going to try to book an Amish tour of homes and eat supper with them, but the lateness of our arrival and the upcoming rain cancelled these plans.
We ate at a nice Amish Restaurant called Yoder's instead. They even told us where we could drive to see some Amish homes and farms.
About midnight, the rain came down. The remnants of hurricane Isaac poured rain all night.
We slept very well. Plus we are all tired.
That helped too.
Day 3 Arthur, IL to Wisconsin Dells, WI
Trip 325 miles

Up early Saturday morning, we set out for the Wisconsin Dells, WI.
It took all day.
Our Route:
We took back roads to Decatur, IL, where we picked up Hwy 51 north. At Bloomington, IL we took I-39 to Madison, WI
Just before the Dells, we took I-90.
Paw behind the wheel, while I help navigate.
We see lots and lots and lots of corn fields.
and windmills too!
More fields of something growing.
Maybe soybeans??
We catch up to the rain that came through last night.
Really love all these farmhouses.
and barns too
It's hard to remember every river we cross.
No sunset, but cool clouds.
You better pay attention to Paw girl. How's the weather up in Wisconsin? You haven't said. My mama use to live there for awhile.Praying for you all each day! ;) Love you!
